Energy is received through food, touch, sound and smell as well as through light entering the optic nerve of the eye. The optic nerve is the only exposed nerve in the body; it is a master nerve directly connecting the two eyes with the pineal, the pituitary, and the hypothalamus. The pineal gland is called the third eye, because it is governed by visual images from both the outer world as well as from visually imagined images in meditation. This gland secretes over 20,000 psychoactive consciousness changing chemicals that are a thousand times stronger than psychoactive chemicals from natural or synthetic sources. Therefore, it is important, on the path of mental wisdom and the pursuit of spiritual perfection, to stimulate this master nerve and glands, according to the original purity of ideas in divine mind, and through the beauty of nature, art, symbols, sacred geometry and colors. The brain itself, the mind, communicates through visual images, not words. For example, the word for horse in Spanish is different from the word for horse in English or French etc. However, a visualized image of a horse in the imagination, or a picture in the outer world, is understood by all beings alike. In addition to this, the subconscious mind, which processes 400 billion bits of information a second, in contrast to the conscious mind which processes 4 to 40 bits of information a second, does not distinguish the difference between an actual picture of a horse seen on the outer, or an imagined image of a horse on the inner imagination. The subconscious mind treats both images, real and imagined, as equally real and true. That is why it is so important to IMAGINE WHAT YOU REALLY WANT in meditation, and to surround yourself with outer images of what you really want, in order to stimulate the chemicals in your body that correspond to states of reality that you wish to experience, to attract the realities of the beauty and enlightenment you seek. The visual interplay between a painting surface and emotional and thought processing in the cranium stimulates and nourishes the governing glands of the body. This is the way to program the third eye to create psychoactive chemicals that are in the frequency of enlightenment, and is why the creation of visual art is a path to express spiritual perfection. In this way, divine gifts of clairvoyance, eloquence, artistic talent, and mental perception, that are natural at birth, grow and develop in an atmosphere of visual creativity in the pursuit for spiritual perfection.
